Requirements for Weddings in Mauritius

If you are considering a Wedding on romantic Mauritius you should be aware of the following Legal Requirements and Public Holidays in Mauritius 2008

Certified copies of the documents must be forwarded to our offices within ten weeks of your arrival. ALL ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS MUST BE TAKEN WITH YOU. We regret that no refund will be made for any service pre-booked if you do not bring the original documents on holiday with you and are forced to abandon your wedding plans

Important: On the island of Mauritius a widow may not remarry within 300 days following the death of her husband or a divorcee within 300 days after the decree absolute has been granted, unless she undergoes a medical examination in Mauritius to prove that she is not pregnant at the time of the wedding. On presentation of such a certificate, the marriage will be allowed to take place. If the test is positive, then the marriage will not take place under any circumstances - we can arrange for this simple test to be carried out at an additional charge.
