Vadoo Island Resort is a little gem set in the Indian Ocean.
One of the smallest islands of the Maldives, Vadoo Island Resort is not only the perfect place for relaxing, scuba diving, but also for authentic Ayurveda treatments and therapy. Divers will love the house reef that is ideal for both scuba diving and snorkling, as well as the numerous dive sites around Vadoo. Guests get to relax in luxurious over water bungalows, beach cottages or deluxe rooms, and spend their Maldives holiday in a natural paradise, with many birds living on the island and a bountiful variety of marine life.
Located in South Male Atoll
The Vadoo island resort is situated just 5 miles from Malé International Airport, approximately 15 minutes by speed boat or 45 minutes by dhoni (Motorized boat). Located in the South Malé atoll facing the Vadoo Channel, which is famous for its spectacular marine life.
The resort has a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, why? - there are no televisions, VCD players or any other distracting devices in the rooms.
Accommodation
The resort offers 31 exclusive and comfortable rooms, consisting of 16 Sun Rise Wing Deluxe Rooms, 8 Beach Cottages, 5 Luxury Over-water Bungalows and 2 Over-water Cottage Suites.
Blending in harmony with nature, the rooms are made up with traditional thatched roofs and marble and wood finishes. Each room has a terrace or balcony that provides a picturesque view of the ivory sand and the turquoise sea.
All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, hot and cold water shower & bath tubs, mini refrigerators and in- room safety lockers.
Over-water Cottage Suites - (2 )
Built on stilts over the water, with private sun decks and direct access to the sea, the suites comprise of 2 bedrooms and a living room. A unique feature of these rooms is the glass topped low table illuminated at night to view under water and the panoramic view of the Indian Ocean while you shower in the bathroom.
Over-water Luxury Bungalows - (5)
Since pioneering the over-water bungalow concept in the Maldives in 1988, Vadoo Resort’s over-water cottages have been among the best in the Maldives. The cottages are built on stilts, with private sun decks and direct access to the sea.
Beach Cottages – (8)
With its private balcony and a veranda deck, each beach cottage opens out to beach providing breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean, especially at sunrise and sunset.
Sun Rise Wing Deluxe – (16)
To preserve the limited land area of the island, the Sun Rise Wing Deluxe Rooms are situated in a two story building. Each room has a local touch outside and modern facilities inside. All the ground floor rooms open up to a veranda while upper rooms have their own private balconies.
Dining on Vadoo Island Resort
In a relaxing and friendly atmosphere with excellent service the restaurant offers a variety of menus (changed daily) combined with different theme nights and BBQ dinners at the beach. Vadoo‘s chefs specialise in providing a variety of eastern curry buffets with an array of Maldivian, Sri Lankan and Indian meals.
The main restaurant and the over-water “Big Hat Bar” both provide guests with á la carte menus featuring seasonal items such as lobster, crabs and other seafood dishes.
Guests can also enjoy a private candlelit dinner on the beach.
The friendly and courteous staff at the “Terrace Bar” and the over-water “Big Hat Bar” will mix your favourite cocktail or serve a cup of freshly brewed Ceylon tea.
Activities - Scuba Diving
Vadoo Diving Club explores the attractive diving spots in both the North and South atoll, close to the resort. Diving points are chosen according to weather patterns, seasonal changes and the skill level of the divers. If you are not an experienced diver or diving enthusiast (yet), you can enjoy the scenic under water world by snorkeling.

While watching the sun set, try your patience and luck at fishing. You may also have your catch cooked according to your preference at the restaurant.

If you are not a diver, snorkelling is the easiest way to take a look at the under water world. All you need is a good mask, a snorkel and a pair of fins.
Ayurveda at Vadoo Island Resort
In keeping with is dedication to provide its guests with a natural haven, Vadoo Island Resort has collaborated with pioneer Ayurveda providers – Barberyn Ayurveda of Sri Lanka, to provide its guests with a new dimension of inner well being and beauty through its authentic Ayurveda programme.
Food and nutrition being an important aspect of Ayurveda healing, the health centre and the kitchen work in close coordination. The healthy and wholesome food is prepared by the Vadoo chefs, who have received training in cooking Ayurveda food at the Barberyn Ayurveda Resorts in Sri Lanka.
