Trincomalee - Sri Lanka

For a number of years the coastal area of Trincomalee has been devoid of tourist activity, but gradually visitors are returning to the area, which boasts some of he finest beaches on the island with good bathing. On this coast the Bay of Bengal, it's dry in May, June and July. This area of Sri Lanka is rich in culture with relative ease of access to many of the heritage sites and some fine national parks. It may be almost a six hour transfer from the airport, but those who make the journey will surely be rewarded.
