The Victoria International Golf Club

The Victoria International Golf Club is a purpose built facility in a stunning location at Rajawella nestled in the Knuckles hills overlooking the Victoria reservoir, within thirty minutes of the city of Kandy. Take a leisurely taxi ride from your hotel base in Kandy and be on the first tee within an hour. The course hosts a number of international competitions and offers players of all standard an exciting and interesting challenge. Whilst there is some water on a number of the holes a major feature of the course is the constant undulation with some magnificent views of the surrounding hills and dense tropical jungle from lofty tee positions. It is most unusual for a golf course to be blessed with both hills and lakes, which form the perfect backdrop, providing truly breathtaking views. The clubhouse has good facilities and can provide a refreshing drink at the end of your round together with a welcome snack. The well stocked professional golf shop is excellent and will hire all necessary equipment including clubs and shoes. A caddy is essential to provide a little local knowledge and comes complete with a ball spotter! The golf course has other facilities including a large putting green and a driving range.

The course was designed by Donald Steel in 1999 and is regarded as one of the top 100 golf courses in the world.

The course is set in a beautiful location where the surrounding countryside provides some of the best views to be experienced in the heart of the island. Weekend and holiday homes are cropping up in the hills immediately around the course and it is clear that the area is developing into a popular retreat.
