Sri Lanka - An Island of Contrast

Whilst the coastal regions of Sri Lanka offers the sun worshipper glorious beaches washed by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, the centre of the island contrasts dramatically: swaying coconut palms give way to fertile paddy fields, jungle and eventually to rubber and tea plantations with spectacular waterfalls and stunning scenery of the 'up country'. In this region sixty percent of the world's tea is produced.
