The South Male Atoll is a great place to go diving. The atoll has many diving sites that are popular with visitors such as the Vaagali Thila, Yacht Thila, Kandooma Point, and Vaadhoo Caves. On the north side of Vaadhoo reef is the Vaadhoo Caves, which are full of squirrelfish, soldier fish, tuna, and soft corals. When diving at Kandooma Point, visitors can see tuna, hammerhead sharks, groupers, and triggerfish. One kilometre east of Dhigufinolhu Island is Yacht Thila, a small, 50-kilometre thila. In order to give tourists the impression of a wreck, a small vessel was sunk under the waters. Inside this vessel, there are moray eels, batfish, and groupers.
Vaagali Thila lies near the uninhabited island of Vaagali. Here you might spot schools of snappers or jackfish, fusiliers, manta rays, eagle rays, or sharks. Some of the other dive sites include Medhu Faru, Embudhu Canyon, Kandu, Lhosfushi, Cocoa Thila, Gulhi Kandu, Bolifushi Thil and Velassaru Faru.
