For your guidance here is a list of the documents required to enable your wedding in Sri Lanka: You will need the original of each document to bring with you to Sri Lanka and two copies of each document to be forwarded to Island Escape holidays, (After Sales and Administration) on confirmation of your booking. If you are considering a wedding within the next eight weeks, you should telephone us immediately to discuss the arrangements on 0845 230 4520.
Documents required by the bride and bridegroom (both of whom should be British Citizens):
- Birth certificate
- Valid passport with a minimum of six months un-expired at the date of your return from Sri Lanka
- Details of occupation together with full address of employer
- Details of both parents including full names, address and occupation
- Sworn affidavit from a notary public confirming that you are free to marry
- Depending on an individual's personal circumstances other documents may be required, for example;
- Death certificate for widower or widow
- Degree absolute for either party who have been divorced.
