Mount Lavinia - Sri Lanka

The suburb of Mount Lavinia is on the periphery of the capital of Sri Lanka, Colombo.

From the heart of the capital outside the aptly named Galle Face Hotel, the Galle Road runs south out of the city and Mount Lavinia is some 10 kilometres distant.

Colombo is vibrant and has a cosmopolitan atmosphere that increasingly exudes style. While the city holds less obvious interest than many other parts of the island, it is still a worth a visit to see what makes Sri Lanka tick, there are some interesting restaurants so dining out can be surprisingly pleasurable and shopping, which can only be described as excellent. The heart of the city and the shops are a fifteen minute taxi ride depending on traffic conditions.
