Traditionally, the Sri Lankan Wedding is performed on a decorated canopied dais or Poruwa. The bride and bridegroom are dressed in local ceremonial costumes. Jayamangala stanzas of blessings are sung by young girls, whilst dancers dressed in colourful vestments gyrate to the beating of drums making the ceremony a very lively and joyous occasion.

Getting married on a tropical island is popular so why not bring along family and friends to join you in Sri Lanka and rejoice in the excitement? All ceremonies take place in a special location which can be chosen by the bride and groom once they arrive in Sri Lanka.

Taking your vows in a tropical location at the Mermaid Hotel & Club is not as expensive as you might thin.  From as little as just £639 including all local taxes we will include all of the following:

We strongly recommend that you book your Sri Lankan wedding arrangements early as the Mermaid Hotel & Club only allows a limited number of ceremonies each week. Please also remember you will need to be resident in the Mermaid Hotel & Club for four working days prior to the day of the ceremony.
