Where to meet

North Terminal: The official meeting point is in international arrivals, near the information desk.

South Terminal: There are meeting points in international arrivals and opposite WHSmith in UK arrivals.

Before you leave
If you're meeting someone at the airport, check the flight is on time before you leave by either using teletext or the internet.

Be aware that for security reasons, vehicles are not allowed to wait on the airport forecourts. If you leave your car unattended, even for only a few minutes, you will be towed away by the Police. Only dropping off passengers is permitted at the airport terminal even the briefest of waiting can incur a parking ticket.  If you're picking someone up by car use the Short Stay Car Park.

At the airport
Information screens in the arrivals area display live flight status information. The status message may be:

• Expected: The flight hasn't landed yet - you've time for coffee or a spot of shopping.

• Landed: Generally, allow 30 - 40 minutes after landing for passengers to clear passport control, baggage reclaim and Customs - longer at busy periods.

• Baggage in hall: Passengers should be in the arrivals area shortly.
