An Introduction to La Reunion

Whilst in Mauritius, why not tie in this self-drive tour, which over four days and three nights will give you a glimpse of the facinating island of Reunion.


   

Day 1

Transfer from your hotel in Mauritius to the airport for the short flight to La Reunion. On arrival you will be met by a member of our local team, who will welcome you and assist you with the collection of your rental car.
The tour starts with a night in the oicturesque capital St Denis where accommodation is provided on a bed & breakfast basis. You can eat your evening meal at the hotel or enjoy a typical local meal at one of the many charming restaurants in this small capital.

Day 2

The second day commemces with the short drive to St Andre where you can visit the Vanilla House and discover the history of the vanilla spice and learn how an orchid has become so important to the local economy of the island.

You will then leave the coastal plain with its fields of sugar plantations and journey onwards into the mountains through tropical hedgerows of beautiful flowers and spectacular glimpes of the sparkling waters of the Indian Ocean in the distance below.

You'll be driving southwards to the highlight of your day - a visit to the eerie Piton de La Fournaise volcano with its lunar like landscape. You'll be able to take a walk across the lava fields and peer doen into an active volcano crater.
