Jet Airways

Jet Airways, India's premier airline, began operating as an air taxi company in 1992, and became a full commercial airline in May 1993. Initially, the airline leased four Boeing 737-300 planes. By 2004 Jet Airways were started international operations with flights to Sri Lanka. Today they have a fleet in excess of 100 aircraft flying to 63 worldwide destinations, the fleet includes Boeing and Airbus aircraft.

Now based in Mumbai, Jet Airways have regular flights to and from 12 Asian destinations and London Heathrow.

The airline operates India's largest frequent flyer programme and members advantages include additional baggage allowance, cancellation fee waiver, and check-in at premier counters.

Jet Airways have their own lounges in the majority of major airports. These lounges are reserved for premiere class travellers and Jet Privilege members holding Platinum, Gold or Silver Card membership. Complimentary snacks and drinks are available.

The standard baggage allowance is 46 kilograms (2 pieces not exceeding 23kg each), with one seven kilogram bag allowed in the cabin for passengers flying from Heathrow.

Jet Airways operate a daily service from Delhi and Mumbai, allowing passengers direct connection through these two cities to London Heathrow.

This new connection offers U.K. travellers the extra choice of Sri Lanka flights via Mumbai or Delhi for their holidays.

Jet Airways operates in excess of 200 flights per day and there are two classes of flight service on Jet Airways - economy and premiere class. Premiere class offers sleeper seats which are fully flat seats with an under sheet, duvet and blanket for extra warmth. There is also a turn-down service and a small amenity kit available to passengers. Economy class seating has differing seating patterns according to the type of aircraft you are travelling on, but the seat pitch is generally 32 inches with a 130 degree recline.

Onboard the aircraft Jet Airways offers a full airline service and depending on the time of your flight, breakfast, lunch, high tea, and/or dinner will be served. A range of multinational food is available. Vegetarian and religious dietary requirements are catered for if prior notice is provided. Onboard menus will differ between the two different classes of flight service. Jet Airwards offers in-flight entertainment in both business and economy class and passengers can take advantage of both video and audio entertainment options.

Special assistance is always available on Jet Airways. Passengers with young children and individuals who require wheelchair assistance are advised to contact us prior to travelling in order to receive the necessary support.

Children aged between two and 12 years will receive a special entertainment programme, `Jet Kids', to while away the flying hours.
