Dining

One of the delights of travelling can be to experience local cuisine. However, once you leave the capital Colombo the island of Sri Lanka is only just realising that eating out can be a pleasurable and enjoyable experience, therefore many of the choices of restaurants are restricted to the hotels themselves, but things are changing and a number of restaurants are beginning to emerge particularly in lively Hikkaduwa and the United Nations World Heritage designated city of Galle, both of which can be reached easily by local taxi. However, it is by no means necessary to leave the confines of the hotel and travel to experience some interesting and varied food as the Heritance Ahungalla has its very own experts waiting to provide the culinary experience you are hoping to enjoy, be it local curries or international dishes.

Buffet style service with an array of interesting dishes to tempt the palate and open daily for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Occasional themed meals provide an accompaniment to live entertainment.

Dining - The Upper Room

Make a date and enjoy fine evening dining in the warm, romantic and cosy atmosphere of the hotels premier fine dining restaurant. It doesn't have to be a special occasion, but if it is simply let the staff know and they will be pleased to help you celebrate. A good selection of wines are available to accompany your choice of dish.

Dining - The Coffee Shop

As an alternative to a full meal relax in the casual atmosphere of the Coffee Shop, opt for your favourite snack available daily between 7am to 11pm freshly prepared and served to your table with your choice of beverage.

The Pool Bar & Lobby Bar

Throughout the day a number of locations are available including the Pool Bar and the Lobby Bar which provide guests with an excuse to stop and gossip and a place to take on board a welcome refreshing drink in a relaxed atmosphere. Into the evening the atmosphere changes and guests congregate in the Wall Bar for a pre-dinner aperitif before dining or a night cap before a final wander along the moonlit beach in the balmy evening breeze.
