Diving conditions at Soneva Fushi and in the Baa Atoll vary with the seasons. From December to April the visibility is at its best and can be as much as 50 metres. The ocean is generally calm from February until April. From May to November visibility is reduced to between 15 and 20 metres - the main factor for the reduced visibility between these months is the increase in plankton which attracts many manta rays and the occasional whale shark. The ocean is generally moderate to rough from May to November.
Turtles, sting rays, sharks, eagle rays, frog fish, and many other varieties of fish can be spotted throughout the year.
