Diving at Chaaya Reef Ellaidhoo

The house reef at Ellaidhoo encircles the whole of the island and drops to a depth of some thirty metres. It is the possibility of diving from the southern shores of the island that make this one of the finest dive destinations in The Maldives.

Wrecks and Caves

There is a wreck to explore and experienced divers can enjoy access throughout the day and night. On the southern part of the island, there is a vertical drop-off with caves at three different levels. Common species found in the waters around the island include shark, sting ray and turtles as well as the myriad of tropical fish feeding off the soft corals. Other options include boat diving to other sites or wreck diving, these can be arranged in advance or left until you arrive.
