Bird Watching in sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is a paradise for bird watchers with over four hundred recorded species, including some two hundred resident of which twenty six are endemic. These include Babblers, Barbets, Bulbuls, Parakeets, Woodpeckers, Raptors, Sunbirds, Flower Peckers, Fly Catchers and Waders. Migratory birds visit the island from as far away as Europe and Siberia. The Minneriya National Park is just one of many bird sanctuaries in sr Lanka.
