Perhaps the most famous golf centre on the island of Mauritius is to be found at Belle Mare Plage where there are two championship courses. The Legend was established in 1994, since then the course has matured into a fine international standard championship facility, simply waiting to be mastered by the avid amateur. The course is constantly being nurtured and improved, much of the course winds its way through forest and the fairways are tree lined demanding accuracy. However, perched on an outcrop of ancient volcanic rock, the par 3 seventeenth green is regarded by many as the most picturesque hole on the island as it is virtually surrounded by the waters of the Indian Ocean with spectacular views from the tee - don't forget to take your camera and some spare golf balls as you will need to hold your nerve to hit the green! As the course hosts a number of international competitions throughout the year we recommend letting us make reservations on your behalf if it is your intention to play - your handicap certificate may be required.

The second course at Belle Mare Plage The Links, opened in November 2002 and is a demanding links course as the name suggest meandering along the coast with stunning views of the island. The course was created as a result of the success of golf on the island and to satisfy the increase in demand. The course is set below the Club House facing the setting sun. On arriving at the eighteenth you will be facing the courses toughest challenge a par 4 with a huge drive across water, once you reach the green and put out you can wander up to the 19^th for a refreshing drink where you can discuss how best to approach the green on your next visit - Mauritius is popular for golfers, it is always recommended to allow us make a reservation on your behalf to avoid the possibility of disappointment.

A fully stocked professional shop is situated at the course where full equipment rental is available including shoes and clubs. Please be aware that you will be expected to be properly attired whilst on the golf course.
