Belle Mare - Mauritius

Popular Belle Mare is situated on the North East coast of the island of Mauritius overlooking the warm waters of the Indian Ocean approximately sixty minute drive from the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport. The area is popular because along this stretch of the coastline the coral reef protects the beaches and makes the inshore waters calm safe and ideal for enjoying the plentiful water based activities on offer by the hotels. Belle Mare itself is a hamlet with a few small holdings eking out a meagre existence off the land, the popular area of Grand Baie with its cosmopolitan atmosphere, busy restaurants, bars and shops can be reached easily by taxi. Access to the islands most famous Golf Clubs at Belle Mare Plage and Le Touessrok is convenient and we would be pleased to pre book tee times for our guests. No visit to Mauritius would be complete without a visit to the capital the throbbing heart of this vibrant island only 50 kilometres distant on the West Coast and a comfortable 45 minute taxi ride. Spend a leisurely morning or afternoon walking around the bustling market at Port Louis searching out a locally crafted souvenir or simply wander around the streets looking at the colonial architecture. The beaches along the coast are pristine and the waters crystal clear, a tropical haven and one of the most desirable stretches of the island.
