Baa Atoll - The Maldives

Wooden lacquer ware, which is made exclusively on the Baa Atoll, can be found in shops throughout the Baa Atoll. This wooden lacquer ware is made from Alexandrian laurel, a local fauna that grows throughout the Maldives. They are lacquered in strands of yellow, black, and red resin and carved with flowery patterns.
