Some History...

Once the headquarters for the Dutch Commander and later the billet for British Soldiers, the building which was converted to a hotel over one hundred and forty year ago has been completely refurbished and tastefully updated to provide accommodation representing outstanding comfort.

Former Glory Recaptured...

Within the wonderful stately Great Hall a colonial atmosphere pervades and offers formal intimate fine dining, furnished throughout with many original artefacts from its rich past its former glory is recaptured and the only concession made by the hotel to the twentieth century is a spa with a full range of treatments and a private swimming pool situated within the scented gardens with comfortable sun lounger’s, which provide an opportunity to relax.

Afternoon Tea...

The wonderful terrace overlooking famous Church Street with its avenue of para trees is the favourite meeting place and affords visitors a welcome shade from the searing midday sun serving a traditional afternoon tea with freshly baked scones, preserves on a bed of cream, alternatively a selection of delicious cakes or pastries are on offer.
